Via Mardot w/ Reese Florence

City Winery Philadelphia Presents Via Mardot w/ Reese Florence live in concert on December 19th at 7:30pm

While Via Mardot has very few words to say in her music, you can hear and see little movies in her delicate, devastating, and curious motions of the hand as she plays her theremin. Seeing as though Via is a bit of a movie buff, a lot of her music has a very cinematic feel to it.. somehow fitting into a twin peaks episode or a space age film while being something that is completely hers.

While on the theremin, Via will be accompanied by brothers, Vernon James (guitar) and Adam Bradley Schreiber (drums) to make her instrumentals come to life.

Reese Florence is a Guyanese & Martiniquais American singer-songwriter. Her musical practices are balanced between translations of the unseen, and her distincitve cultural heritage. Drawing inspiration from the realms of Noir, Freak folk, and experimental noise, Florence creates a soundscape that is entirely her own.
