ROBERT GEE is an International Recording Artist/Entertainer and native son from the City Of Brotherly Love, who began his musical journey at an early age with a voice scholarship to Settlement Music School in Germantown where he was raised. That led him immediately into the world of classical theatre where he performed in works like La Traviata and Aida with Opera Ebony later known as Opera North at the famed Academy Of Music.
From there Robert dove into the world of musical theatre where he starred in many popular productions like The Wiz, Ain’t Misbehavin, Dreamgirls, Jesus Christ Superstar, Blues In The Night and more! This versatile performer honed his soulful craft fronting up Jazz and R&B bands in nite clubs and on colleges! RG is even an Amatuer Night winner at the world famous Apollo Theatre in New York!
A move to Los Angeles gave Robert the opportunity to work with Robert Townsend in “The Five Heartbeats Live!” so impressed, Robert Townsend was instrumental in him being cast as “Bossman” in The Little Richard Story for NBC! Because of his breakout performances Robert has been reviewed by critics in many notable publications from the Philadelphia Tribune to the LA Times and as far away as Armenia!
You may have seen Robert Gee shining as a background artist for a few of your favourites like being featured in the Luther Vandross Video “Power Of Love” or Ledisi’s video “Add To Me”. On stage and in the studio Gee has backed Vesta Williams, Kashif, Tevin Campbell, The Emotions, Atlantic Star and toured the U.S. extensively with Loose Ends Featuring Jane Eugene where he opened to SRO crowds on their 2017-18 tour.
Robert took the plunge into the independent artist realm with his 2008 critically acclaimed release titled “All My Love”. Followed that up with a 2017 release of “Robert Gee The EP”! Both releases did well in the UK and Japan markets. The Black Music Association acknowledged and awarded Robert the Best R&B Male Vocal Performance for both releases in 2010 and 2018 respectively.
Now living in London the singer, song-writer, producer has collaborated and co-written two single releases. One for Luman Child titled “Grateful” which was remixed by Ashley Beedle for North Street West and released early 2023 on UK label TruThoughts Records. Then Robert’s hot return to the UK Soul scene titled “Whatcha Wanna Do” on Expansion Records which topped several charts. Making to #3 on the UK Soul chart, Solar Radio Sweet Rhythms #2 and Street Sounds Radio #1 for 2 weeks consecutively! This artist on the verge is currently writing and recording for his highly anticipated summer 2024 release!
