City Winery Philadelphia Presents: Gypsy Jazz Brunch with the Hot Club of Philadelphia live on August 11th at 12pm

The Hot Club of Philadelphia was started in 2001 by guitarist Barry Wahrhaftig, [War-hof-tig]. They are an acoustic ensemble, dedicated to playing ‘Gypsy Jazz.’ That’s the term used to describe the music pioneered by the legendary original ‘Hot Club of France Quintet,’ which was led by guitarist Django Reinhardt and Violinist Stephane Grappelli in the 30's & 40's.

The HCPhilly are area favorites, known for their fun & lively stage shows. The line - up will be Mollie DuCoste - violin, Josh Machiz - bass, Phyllis Chapell - vocals, Barry Wahrhaftig - guitar & vocals, Dan Pearce - guitar.
