Legends of the Song is a night of tales and stories of GRAMMY Nominated, Dove Award Winning Producer and Songwriter, Dana Soréy. This night will be an enlightening concert to the listener, who will take a journey through Dana Soréy’s gospel catalog of Hit songs. Dana will feature Guest Performances from Maranda Curtis and Jason Nelson
Dana Soréy is an American producer, arranger, composer, songwriter, and the founder of C Bazz Entertainment and C Blake Studios. God began to cultivate his ear and his love for chords and melodies from a very young age. Shedding in garages with his brothers and the neighborhood musicians began the musical journey, and became the training ground for honing his craft towards becoming a consummate musician. One of Dana’s most cherished achievements was being a part of one of the most notable bands in gospel music history, Soundcheck, with Tye Tribbett and Greater Anointing (GA). Dana’s experience as a musician and co-producer with the group catapulted his musical ability to a distinguished level beyond simply playing, and was the impetus that enabled him to segue from musician to arranger, and ultimately, to producer.
Born and raised in Miami, Fl to Reverend W.S. Curtis and Mrs. Darlene Curtis, the fourth of Seven children, Maranda quickly found singing to be a source of comfort. Maranda has had the opportunity to share the stage with such gospel artists as Pastor John P. Kee, Kurt Carr, Youthful Praise & more. Known for her melodic tones and her natural flow in worship, Curtis continues to soar as a leading voice in the gospel music industry. Maranda’s signature sound has been featured on various music projects as a lead vocalist and audiences have taken to her sound very well. Maranda lives by the belief, “Worship is not a matter of skill; it’s a lifestyle!”
Jason Nelson, a Baltimore, Maryland native, is one of the most profound voices in gospel music and has been described as a rare gift to the Kingdom. His sensitivity to the presence and voice of the Lord, as well as his ability to release a sound that can shift any atmosphere is unmatched. It was Jason’s debut solo project, “I Shall Live” (2005) that affirmed his vocal status and exceptional gifting. His incredible songwriting portfolio and unique understanding of praise and worship also propelled him onto the industry’s watch list. Jason is a Grammy and Dove Award nominee and is a recipient of the Stellar Award for Praise and Worship CD of the Year (2013). Some of his greatest hits include “Shifting the Atmosphere”, “Nothing Without You”, “I am” and “Forever” and “Residue”. His newest single is, “Yahweh” (on the Tyscot/Fairtrade Label). Jason’s exceptional voice is sure to continue to have a transformative impact on all who hear. Amazingly enough, even with such an impressive portfolio, great influence in the industry, and having traveled all over the world, Jason still considers one of his greatest accomplishments to be his family. It is the love and support of his beautiful wife Tonya and their two incredible children, Jaelyn Paris and Jason Christopher, that have helped to make this journey such an amazing experience.
